Stallions of Tally Ho
The stallions of Tally Ho Shires lead lives comparable to the rest of the horses: they work and play, and they enjoy it. Deighton Black Knight is a multiple champion sire in halter and hitch who continues to stamp the American Shire Horse with quality. His progeny are gifted in a variety of disciplines and consistently follow in his glorious footsteps. This incredible black stallion does it all and is quite the loveable fellow while 'showing off.' Many of his adoring followers have their cameras ready when Black Knight, or "B.K." as he is known on the farm, takes a victory lap. He is a ham, and when the crowd applauds, he offers his vintage victory jig. Black Knight has sired many halter and hitch champions, but is most admired for the wonderful dispositions he consistently throws. Black Knight has done a wonderful job for us. Check out his page and enjoy the photos that chronicle the life of this superior sire. |

Black Forest Alfie’s Grand Finale is a multiple champion halter horse and is just starting his breeding career. Alfie has a wonderful disposition and stamps his foals with the same. Whether he’s helping to train driving horses or taking the kids around the arena in a cart class, Alfie does it all with his calm, easy demeanor. He rides and drives and is a true gentleman in all that he does. Look for his foals in the coming spring. Alfie is owned by Jeff Bartko and proudly stands at Tally Ho Shires.

Tally Ho BK's King Francis
Tally Ho BK’s King Francis is a multiple champion halter horse and is just starting his breeding career as well. He and Alfie are best of friends and never far apart. Frank’s dam is from the amazing Heart Mtn. Shires lines and his sire is our fantastic Deighton Black Knight. Frank rides and drives and has a wonderful disposition. We are looking forward to his foals in the coming years!
In Memoriam for Cowerslane Nomination (aka Govy):
On July 2nd 2011, we lost a great Shire stallion who was a tremendous influence on the breed, a wonderful presence on the farm, and a beloved member of our family. Cowerslane Nomination passed away surrounded by his loved ones, both human and horse. He arrived as a youngster from England in 1987, and the moment he set foot on our Colorado farm, he endeared himself to every heart he encountered. No one was a stranger to him. He was part of three generations of the Parrington family and he blessed us with 25 magnificent years of memories and over 50 lovely Shire babies that carry on his impressive genetics and disposition. Govy, enjoy your eternal pastures. We will love and miss you always.
